چکیده

Land use/land cover (LULC) and climate change are the two major environmental factors that affect water resource planning management at different scales. This study aims to investigate effects of LULC patterns for a better understanding hydrological processes Birr River watershed. To examine on hydrology, three periods data (1986–1996, 1997–2007 2008–2018) sets maps (1986, 2001 2018) were established. The changes in flow caused by estimated using soil assessment tool (SWAT) indicator alteration (IHA) method. Results showed SWAT model performed well during calibration validation period monthly timestep, with R2 NSE values (0.83 0.81) (0.80 0.71), respectively. increased surface runoff while decreasing baseflow, yield, evapotranspiration. was due agriculture settlements, reduction bushland, forest, grassland. Climate yield baseflow evapotranspiration 1996–2006. combined effect reveals decreased trend evapotranspiration, whereas inconsistency. In addition, IHA found no statistically significant increasing one-day, three-days, seven-day, thirty-day minimum maximum daily streamflow These findings will be useful authorities, engineers, managers concerned LULC, climate.

Land use and land cover spatiotemporal dynamic pattern and predicting changes using integrated CA-Markov model

Analyzing the process of land use and cover changes during long periods of time and predicting the future changes is highly important and useful for the land use managers. In this study, the land use maps in the Ardabil plain in north-west part of Iran for four periods (1989, 1998, 2009 and 2013) are extracted and analyzed through remote sensing technique, using the land-sat satellite images. Impacts of changes in climate, land use and land cover on atmospheric mercury

Mercury is an important pollutant that can be transported globally due to its long lifetime in the atmosphere. Atmosphere-surface exchange is a major process affecting the cycling of mercury in the global environment and its impacts on food webs. We investigate the sensitivities of the air-surface exchange, atmospheric transport, and budget of mercury to projected 2000e2050 changes in climate a...

Land Use and Land Cover Changes in a Tropical River Basin: A Case from Bharathapuzha River Basin, Southern India

A study of the spatial and temporal changes in land use and land cover (LULC) was conducted using Remote Sensing and GIS. We analyzed the LULC of Bharathapuzha river basin, south India using multispectral LANDSAT imageries of 1973-2005 time periods. 31% depletion in the natural vegetation cover and 8.7% depletion in wetland agriculture area were seen in the basin during the period. On the other...
